I did a 5 sec. 3D animation as a final project for a short introductory course on Maya. I went simple for this one though because we only had one session to work on it. It’s ok for me but I could’ve done better.
Animating this made me appreciate even more the work put into 3D animation movies or movies with animations in it. It takes a lot of creative effort into it but the results are amazing. I originally like hand drawn animations but doing this really changed my perspective on 3D animation. I’m glad I took that short course :)
These are the low-res versions of some of the illustrations I did for a Danish children’s website: Klogleg.dk (which is currently in the works). I’ll do another post about this when the website is done and all of the illustrations are posted.
I really had a lot of fun doing this. This project also helped me practice my color, anatomy and perspective skills.
Sketches of potential characters for my webcomic, temporarily entitled “The Mystical Forests of Kor (which is most likely “heart” in Latin)”.
It will be mostly be environmental-related. I’ll be basing this on my camping experiences, stuff I learned from zoology, the legend of Maria Makiling, and Mount Makiling (which is an hour away from our house).
Regarding the plot, I’m already 5 chapters in but the script hasn’t been done yet.
I’ll continue to update you whenever I make progress regarding this project. I’m posting it here to so that I’ll definitely stick on finishing this.
A hardcore librarian for sasha-art ‘s Bad Bitches Zine. I really liked creating this piece.
For me so far, I haven’t encountered any adventure seeking female librarian so I decided to do it. I also added some library-related details like the grandfather clock, shelves and the library card in her pocket. To add to that, I aimed to make it look like a cover of a book :)
Here’s my process:
First- did some thumbnails to fix composition and the character’s pose
Second- After approving a final thumbnail, I did small color tests. Since the theme was “Bad Bitches”, I went for the one with cooler colors (the bottom picture on the left).
Third- I just simply copied the colors in the previous color test. Added some details and made her more badass (compared to the initial sketch).
I’m gonna go on a hiatus for a while. Got some commission stuff to do. I’m also still working on the webcomic. I’ll post some concept art when I’m ok with the concept. Anyway, thanks for following me. See you soon :).
