Some AWoG sketches! I’m a big fan of this show :) Watching it brightens up my day. Might do some proper fan-art soon.

Been in an art slump lately.. Anyway, here’s some sketches! I tried to mimic William Joyce’s style for these. Some sketches are copied from William Joyce’s “Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King” book.

Some neat blogs about color, backgrounds & composition

Check these blogs out ! (Also posting this for future reference)

1. Colorful Animation Expressions- This analyzes colors used in animation. The link leads to a post about an analysis of the 101 Dalmatians movie.

2. Animation Backgrounds by Bob Richards- digitally restored backgrounds from various animated shows and films are posted here.

3. Stephen Nicodemus’ blog- his animation background art is amazing! especially the ones he did for the Scooby Doo and My Gym Partner’s A Monkey cartoons..

4. Art Composition for Painting and Drawing (contains some NSFW pictures)- focuses on compositions used in paintings

5. Illustration Art by David Apatoff (contains some NSFW pics)- his posts are about analyzing illustrations done by various artists like Jack Kirby, Richard Thompson and Greg Manchess.

6.Supervised by Fred Avery: Tex Avery’s Warner Brothers Cartoons- This is for Tex Avery fanatics and for all those who love watching the old Looney Tunes.

A quick update! (sorry for the ramblings)

I’m deciding to do a webcomic! (I’ll stick through it this time..) The script is in the works atm, I’m almost done finishing the first draft of chapter one. Can’t believe how hard it is to write a good story without making it boring. Well at least I’m doing something original this time.

I’ll post some initial concepts of the webcomic in a few days..

I’m joining Camp NaNoWriMo!

Just joined Camp NaNoWriMo! I’m aiming to fix out my webcomic script for the entire duration. I’m not very good at writing stories but I think this will greatly help me along the way.

For anyone joining this, feel free to message me if you want to be cabin mates. Thanks!

Here’s the final illustration! I tried to add a bit of a movie poster feel to it.
The scene that touched me the most throughout the movie was when the family was finally together. Hope you like it! Go watch the movie for those who haven’t!

______________________________________________________________

F.A.Q.

HEY! We wanted to go over two of the most frequently asked questions we’ve been getting lately. These questions are primarily related to the Submissions process. Maybe this will make things easier for some people.

________________________

Q: What Copyright will Cup of Comics have on my work?

A: Cup of Comics will never claim your work as our own. We give all our artists complete control and Copyright over their own comics.

________________________

Q: Will I be allowed to host my webcomic on other websites or does it have to be Cup of Comics exclusive?

A: We allow our artists to host their webcomics on other sites like Blogspot, smackjeves, deviantART, tumblr, etc. We will however not permet you to join another Comic collective like our own if your still apart of us. Also when posting your comic to another website we ask our artists to keep it several pages to one full chapter behind the ones posted on Cup of Comics. This is so that we can keep people coming to the main site more often.

________________________

Also just a reminder that CoC submissions will still be open for a while! We know we have no set date when they will be closing but we will give an annoucnement in advance when that date is. We would hate to close it without a warning.

So we are looking forward to more entries! Thank you for the submissions we have received thus far. Keep them coming and have a great day!

We’re looking for a new recruit! Come submit your idea!

A low res file of the commission I did for June. It’s Elsa and Revel (her friend’s OC) in their training outfit. I used Kyle T Webster’s brushes for this one.
